Welcome to Marc & Laurel’s Texas Adventures!

Since we moved to Texas, near Austin, in May of 2008 we have been enjoying getting to travel through some of the surrounding areas and take some pictures now and then. The picture above is just an example of the beautiful sights we’ve been able to find. We hope you enjoy taking a look at some of our favorite places. 

For those of you who enjoyed all of the pictures we had taken while living in Alaska, I do plan to get some of those back on this site in the future...but for now, it’s all about Texas!

The vast majority of the pictures on this site were all taken with a high resolution, digital camera, so the file sizes are quite large. With most of the pictures, I have provided a link to the full size picture so if you wish to see the larger version simply click on the picture itself.

This is what I ordered recently for Laurel’s birthday. Beautiful flowers and a cuddly stuffed bear that is supposed to be 16 inches tall. 

This is what was actually delivered. Note the picture on the top right where we are measuring the bear that was sent. You may also note the lack of lilies and roses as compared to the picture above, not to mention the cheap, plain vase they were sent in.

This order was placed through 1-800-FLOWERS and was delivered by a local Austin florist. Let it be noted that it was the Austin florist who screwed this up, not 1-800-FLOWERS. After several phone calls and some arguing about this, 1-800-FLOWERS agreed to give me a full refund. Meanwhile, the local florist says that they performed their job the way they should have and that the value of the flowers, while not exactly what is in the picture, are of the same value. 

So, the upper picture has at least 7 lilies and 5 roses, and only a handful of the other “filler flowers”...and what we got has 4 unopened lilies, only 2 roses and is mostly filler flowers. Not to mention that the roses are not even the same color as the ones I bought. Yeah...we were a bit peeved.
